Boeing Hygienist Named NSC Rising Star of Safety Class of 2026

Hunter Burbidge, industrial hygienist at Boeing in Everett, Washington, was named to the NSC Rising Stars of Safety Class of 2026 according to Safety+Health Magazine. He led Enterprise Standard Gated Process EHS reviews for Gates 7, 8 and 9.

Production Line Launch Support

Burbidge’s work enabled the safe launch of the first 737 production line outside Renton in Everett. He initiated a tailored approach to adapt the gated process for the unique site and established production line. He thoroughly researched safety and engineering requirements according to Safety+Health Magazine.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Burbidge built strong cross-functional relationships with design, engineering, EHS, operations, and equipment teams. These relationships fostered collaboration and alignment on the project.

Risk Identification and Mitigation

Critical risks including fall hazards over 4 feet, integration of automated guided vehicles, and ergonomic push/pull concerns were identified and mitigated prior to the start of production. Burbidge ensured all EHS regulatory and compliance criteria were met comprehensively according to Safety+Health Magazine.
